| About PBHF |
Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) consumer education foundation whose purpose is to motivate people to eat more fruits and vegetables to improve public health. PBH is a member and co-chair of the National Fruit and Vegetable Program (NFVP) formerly known as the 5 A Day Program. The NFVP consists of government agencies, non-profit organizations and industry working in collaboration to expand the Fruits & Veggies-More Matters™ health initiative. Fruits and Veggies-More Matters is the nation's largest public-private, fruit and vegetable, nutrition education initiative with Fruit and Vegetable Nutrition Coordinators in each state, territory and the military.
Over the past fifteen years, the 5 A Day message successfully increased Americans' awareness of the importance of eating more fruits and vegetables. Today, we are leveraging this success with the introduction of a new call to action, Fruits & Veggies-More Matters, that will build on the awareness levels of Americans as well as motivate behavior change. Fruits & Veggies-More Matters is being phased into our catalog items. During this phase in process, we want our loyal and new supporters to know that the message of 5 A Day The Color Way remain relevant and accurate. Many of the 5 A day messages are incorporated into Fruits & Veggies-More Maters messages. Both Fruits & Veggies-More Matters and 5 A Day Color Way products reflect the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
Produce for Better Health foundation is the official distributor of Fruits & Veggies-More Matters and 5 A Day products for the National Fruit and Vegetable Program. Proceeds generated from catalog sales directly support the Fruits & Veggies-More Matters health initiative.
